General Information

Ages

9 to 15. Must be age 9 by the last day of August or still be 15 when camp starts.

See sliding annual income scale for registration fees.

Dates

June 21 through July 20, 2017. No camp July 4. Transportation and lunch provided on all camp dates.

Hours

Monday through Friday 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Daily supervision will begin at 8:30 am, please do not drop children off before 8:30 am. All children must either take the bus home or be picked up by 12:45 p.m.

Orientation Day

June 21, 2017. Free physical exams provided 9:30 am - 11:30 am, this day only. Campers do not swim or rotate to different activities on this day.  

Physical Exams

All campers must have a completed physical examination before participating in camp. NYSP provides free physicals on Orientation Day (06/21/2017) only. NYSP physical examinations cannot be used for any other camps or programs. If participants are not in attendance on June 21, physical exams must be completed by family physician at one’s own expense. Read more

Lunches

Provided daily. NYSP is a site that participates in the USDA Summer Food Serivce Program (see community support). All participants must have a completed free or reduced lunch form on file, even if they are not eligible for the service. All children will be served the same lunch to eat unless special medical/dietary requests are made in advance with proper paperwork on file with NYSP office. Read more

Water

We encourage children to drink water when being active and water is provided during camp. Feel free to have your child bring a refillable water bottle for use during camp.  Milk is provided to drink for snack and lunch times.

Attire

All campers are expected to dress appropriately. Campers should be wearing comfortable clothing that allows them to easily move and do physical activity. Examples of appropriate and acceptable attire consist of shorts, t-shirt, sneakers. No sandals (open toed shoes) or flip-flops will be permitted for any activity, other than swimming.

Swimming

Each participant needs to bring his/her own swim suite/swim trunks and towel (goggles if needed) for daily swimming. One piece bathing suits recommended for females.There is no swimming on camp orientation day 6/21/17. Read more.

All Activities

It is the expectation that everyone attending the camp participates in all activities, including swimming. Activities are designed so that everyone participates. Any child being disruptive or disrespectful of others while participating, will be sent home if needed. Activities will take place both indoors and outdoors, and sunscreen is recommended for outdoor activities. 

Inclusion

Any child needing additional assistance with activities will be asked to complete additional forms to provide more information to help us assist your child. Read more

Transportation

Monongalia County School buses will provide transportation. Summer bus schedules will be similar to previous summers. Scheudles can be found on the web site when available. Read more
